How early should I arrive for my massage?

New clients should arrive 10 minutes prior to their massage to fill out paperwork and meet with their therapist prior to their treatment. Returning clients should arrive five minutes prior to their session.

What should I expect my first visit?

When you visit Well Balanced Massage, you will be greeted by one of our helpful and friendly staff members. If it is your first time visiting, please down load the new client form and complete it prior to your appoint. This paperwork will help me to assist you in deciding what type of massage you need.

Before a massage, you will be asked about the expectations you have for the session. In other words are looking for a general stress-reduction massage, or whether you are seeking help with a specific problem such as neck pain, lower back pain, headaches, carpal tunnel syndrome or other pain. All these conditions can be effectively treated with massage therapy.

Next, you will be given privacy to undress and lie comfortably on the table with a sheet or blanket covering you. Remember, you will be covered at all times. Some people choose to wear underclothes or swimsuits. Most people disrobe completely.

After your massage, you will then be left alone to dress. Your therapist will bring you some water and discuss how you are feeling. The last step will be to check out at the front desk and schedule your next massage treatment.

What about modesty?

At your session, you will be given the permission to dress down to your comfort level. Since the goal of a session is to help you achieve the beneficial outcome of total relaxation, it is desirable to have direct hands-on access to all the muscles groups. Because of this, draping techniques will be used throughout the session. You will be fully covered with a body drape to preserve your body’s warmth and modesty. Only the part of the body being worked on will be exposed.

Is it okay to talk during my massage?

Please feel free to talk during your scheduled treatment. In fact, communication during your massage can help to determine the best strategy for meeting your specific needs. Alternatively, you may prefer to just quietly enjoy the relaxation. Some people are so relaxed, they actually fall asleep. This is okay too.

Are there any cancellation fees?

Yes. To respect the schedule and time, please cancel at least 24 hours in advance of your scheduled appointment. If notice is not given at least 24 hours in advance, you will be charged 50% of the total service value of your appointment.

Should I tip?

Gratuities are always appreciated. If you are happy with your treatment, the industry standard for tipping is 15% to 20% of your total service charge. You can tip in cash or add it on to your credit card statement upon checkout.
